About Me
I am from Calgary originally but I am currently in my second year studying Nanotechnology engineering at the University of Waterloo. The reason I chose nanotechnology is because it is such a broad and accelerated program; most of the classes are condensed as Nanotechnology has to cover so many different disciplines. It is essentially a marriage between Chemistry, Quantum Physics and Chemical Engineering.
In my free time I love playing sports and I am on both the soccer and hockey inter-mural teams at the university. Most of my time is taken up studying but I also go to the the gym daily and play guitar to de-stress. My family is very health oriented and as such I make an effort to eat organic, healthy food. My mother is Swedish and I have spent a lot of time in Sweden. As such I am bilingual; fluent in Swedish and English.

Testimonials
"Oliver has previous experience working with carbon materials and has an impressive level of knowledge on this topic. Not only he has been able to carry out the planned tasks to the highest standard, he has also been able to introduce new ideas to our research and helped us realized these ideas. Oliver has always been on top of his work and shows great interests toward our work. It is clear that he Oliver's work exceeds my expectation by a significant margin.
He is highly independent with his work and have demonstrated an outstanding quality in he research work. He shows excellent ability to solve problems in a sensible, professional and well structured manner." Dr. Ocean Cheung, Department of Nanotechnology and Functional Materials, Uppsala University |
"Oliver has been a pleasure to have with us during his term. Throughout his time here, he has contributed in a many ways. Oliver began adding value to the team almost immediately, and has continued to do so consistently throughout his time with us. Clearly intelligent, he is also skilled in working in a team and willingly takes on new tasks. Oliver communicates clearly and displays confidence when interacting with others. Jobs
As a student at the University of Waterloo I am required to complete a certain amount of Co-op Jobs. Ideally these jobs are nanotechnology related, however I am open to new opportunities. If you have an opening please email me, I'd love to hear from you!
Computer Programs
I have experience in most Autodesk programs, specifically Inventor and CAD as well as MATLAB and Python. I have worked extensively with Excel, Powerpoint and various analysis programs such as Origin and STAR.
Work Experience
LinkedIn has a full list, but my most recent job was at the University of Uppsala in Sweden. I was functionalizing the groundbreaking material Upsalite.
Leadership and Awards
I had the opportunity to speak at a panel for the Waterloo delegation to the Nobel Prize ceremonies in Stockholm. I have also attended many leadership conferences and received the presidents award. From a young age I have been very involved in sports teams so I am very familiar with a team mentality.
